Hello everyone! So sorry for not updating our blog for sometime now as I have been, once again, busy as a bee …. plotting and planning, planning and plotting. The good news out of our ponderings and hard work is that we will be launching our “community based hotel model” and our “community based gallery – courtesy of Venus Art & Stationary Sdn. Bhd.'’
What is that? What is a “community based hotel model”? Ha ha ha … to me, in hotelier circles, my comrades will only say something like this to me … “you lost your mind already??”. Well, the answer to that is yes lor …. ha ha ha. As you guys and gals out there may already know, our pre wedding photography was our first step in building this “community based hotel model”. What we intend to do is by allocating certain parts of the Hotel for community enabled events and services, e.g. pre wedding photo taking for free, we would like to create more awareness of our National Heritage, namely our Buildings and Natural Resources in tribute to Arthur and Theodore Hubback, (for more information on The Hubback Brothers, please click here.) the pioneers of Architecture and Wildlife conservation in Malaya during the early 1900’s. We are also hoping that more people will step forward to help us maintain and take care of this fine old building and hopefully, by creating more activities, more people will become aware of our cause and assist us in the fight to preserve this building.
Just recently, Venus Art & Stationary Sdn. Bhd., has decided to partner with @THSH in order to launch our “community based gallery”. As such, we @THSH would like to welcome the entire team from Venus Art & Stationary Sdn. Bhd. on board as they are one of the premier manufactures and distributors of art supplies in Malaysia. We will be restoring (not renovating ok?) part of this building in order to hold this gallery. What’s most interesting about this restoration project is that we will be using ART MATERIALS AND ART PAINT in order to restore! Watch out for our Official Launch sometime in December 2008 as we will be offering FREE EXHIBITION SPACE on a first come first serve basis. So if you would like to showcase your pre wedding pictures as an exhibition, now is the time to start preparing! These are exciting times for me! (It doesn’t take much to excite me does it? Gila lar saya …. ha ha ha)
Ah! But THIS IS MALAYSIA! And yes, I have been always open to all races from Malaysia for events and photo shoots, however I realized much of our wedding couples were all Chinese. It’s not to say that I am biased on this, but Malaysia celebrates it multi ethnicity and I am begging to wonder why not many other races come here for a photo shoot. Is it because of the wedding culture and traditions? Or perhaps language barriers since I use English as the medium of choice on the blogs and official hotel website? Ok, so let's experiment, I will now use Bahasa Malaysia for the next portion of text. Excuse me for my grammar and mistakes, but its been ages since I wrote Bahasa Malaysia.
Baru baru ini, @THSH telah mendapat sambutan yang boleh dikatakan menggalakan, daripada orang ramai untuk mengambil gambar ‘pra-perkahwinan’. @THSH secara dasarnya, membuka pintu hotel kita, secara lokasi percuma untuk pergantin yang berminat, dengan syarat bahawa satu salinan gambar yang ditangkap dalam premis @THSH diberi balik untuk kegunaan hotel dalam aktiviti-aktiviti promosi blog dan laman web hotel. Ini adalah untuk penganting persendirian dan tidak ditujukan untuk produksi komersial. Hotel tidak akan memiliki hakcipta gambar gambar tersebut dan akan menggunakanya untuk promosi sahaja.
Kebelakang ini, saya mendapati bahawa pengantin yang datang ke hotel kami biasanya terdiri daripada golong Cina. Matlamat utama @THSH ialah untuk mempromosikan Khazanah Negara iaitu Banguan Warisan dan Warisan Semulajadi untuk rakyat Malaysia, yang telah digiatkan oleh Arthur Benison Hubback and adiknya Theodore Rathbone Hubback dalam awal era 1900 di Malaya (Untuk maklumat lanjut, sila klik sini). Ini selaras dengan matlamat kita untuk menjadikan @THSH sebagai satu hotel yang berdasarkan komuniti, mengikuti sejarah kegunaan Bangunan Berwarisan Stesen Kuala Lumpur ini.
@THSH telah membuat banyak pelan induk dan strategi untuk masa depan yang akan dikemukakan kemudian. Majalah MASKULIN (isu Oktober) oleh KUMPULAN KARANGKRAF pun telah mengambil beberapa gambar pengantin dalam Hotel kita untuk edisi Pengantin mereka yang memaparkan banyak petua untuk pasangan yang hendak kahwin. @THSH juga akan melancarkan “Pakej Perkahwinan” untuk tahun 2009 yang akan berdasarkan harga “komuniti”. Adalah diharap khalayak ramai akan menyokong segala daya usaha kami.
